Andhra Pradesh's industrial base β key sectors, major hubs, and state industrial policy.
Andhra Pradesh has a diversified industrial base including pharmaceuticals (particularly around Visakhapatnam and other hubs), petrochemicals and refining (Visakhapatnam is home to a major refinery), cement production (leveraging the state's significant limestone reserves), and a growing textiles and apparel sector.
The state has developed various Special Economic Zones (SEZs) and is part of larger national industrial corridor initiatives, such as the Visakhapatnam-Chennai Industrial Corridor, aiming to attract manufacturing investment by improving connectivity and infrastructure along the eastern coast.
The state has been actively promoting IT and electronics manufacturing investment, alongside efforts to develop new administrative and economic hubs as part of the state's post-2014 development planning following its capital-related reorganisation.
