Paper 2 of Group 2 β broad static and current general knowledge.
Regional (Telangana), national and international current events form the single highest-weightage component of Paper I. This also includes international relations and events — major bilateral/multilateral developments, international organisations in the news, and India's foreign policy positions on current issues.
Foundational general science (physics, chemistry, biology at a working-knowledge level) alongside India's recent achievements in Science & Technology — space missions, defence technology, digital initiatives, and notable scientific breakthroughs.
World geography fundamentals, India's physical and economic geography, and — critically — the geography of Telangana State specifically: its physiography, river systems (Godavari and Krishna basins within Telangana), climate, soils, mineral resources, and districts.
Major environmental issues (pollution, biodiversity loss, climate change) and disaster management — prevention and mitigation strategies, with attention to disasters relevant to Telangana (droughts, urban flooding in Hyderabad).
A broad sweep of India's history and cultural heritage — monuments, art forms, UNESCO sites, and civilizational contributions — tested at a general-awareness level rather than the depth expected in a dedicated History paper.
Telangana's own distinct heritage — its society and culture, art forms (Perini Sivatandavam, Bathukamma, Bonalu), literature, and the current policies of the Telangana state government across sectors (welfare schemes, industrial policy, irrigation projects).
Constitutional and statutory provisions for social inclusion, rights-based legislation (RTI, RTE, forest rights), and government policies aimed at inclusive development for marginalised groups.
Logical reasoning with an emphasis on analytical and data interpretation skills, and English at a Class 10 (SSC) standard — basic grammar, comprehension and vocabulary.
