About Civils Marg

Who we are, why we built this, and how the material on this site is put together.

What Civils Marg Is

Civils Marg is a free, exam-oriented study platform built for aspirants preparing for the UPSC Civil Services Examination, the EPFO Recruitment Test, and the APPSC and TSPSC state-level exams. The name itself means "the path of the civil servant" — the idea is to give aspirants a single, organised road through subjects, current affairs, previous year questions and test practice, instead of scattered material across a dozen different sources.

Everything on this site — subject notes, revision material, current affairs coverage, PYQ banks and test series — is organised exam-wise and topic-wise, so you can go straight to what you need instead of hunting for it.

Who Maintains This

Civils Marg is maintained by a small team of civil services aspirants and educators who have been through this preparation journey themselves. We are not a large coaching institute — this is a self-driven, aspirant-run effort, built and updated by people who understand what the exam actually demands, because we've sat on the same side of the table as you.

Our Vision

To make high-quality, exam-focused preparation material freely accessible to every civil services aspirant, regardless of their location, background or ability to pay for expensive coaching.

Our Mission

  • Provide accurate, well-organised, syllabus-aligned notes for every subject across UPSC, EPFO, APPSC and TSPSC.
  • Keep current affairs coverage consistent, dated and genuinely exam-relevant — not just a news dump.
  • Build a growing bank of previous year questions and practice tests so aspirants can test themselves honestly.
  • Keep the platform free and ad-light, so cost is never the reason someone falls behind.
  • Improve continuously based on real feedback from the aspirants actually using the site.

How Our Notes Are Prepared

Each topic on Civils Marg is prepared by first mapping it against the official syllabus for that exam, then researching it across standard reference books, government sources (PIB, ministry websites, official reports), and previous year question trends to see what has actually been asked and how. The material is then written out in our own words, structured under clear headings, and trimmed down to what is actually exam-relevant rather than reproduced wholesale from any single source.

Notes go through an internal review pass for factual accuracy and clarity before they're published, and are revised over time as syllabi, schemes or facts change — this is treated as a living resource, not a one-time upload.

What Makes Our Material Original

  • Written, not copied. Notes are drafted in our own words from primary and standard sources, not copy-pasted from other coaching websites or PDFs already circulating online.
  • Structured for the exam. Content is organised the way an aspirant actually needs it for Prelims, Mains or an interview — not just reformatted textbook content.
  • Regularly updated. Current affairs, schemes and data points are revisited and corrected as things change, rather than being frozen at the point of upload.
  • Built from real exam patterns. Topics and emphasis are shaped by studying actual previous year questions, not guesswork about what "might" be asked.
